The Pacific Association of Domestic Insurance Companies represents small to mid-sized property and casualty insurer business and consumer interests in the western United States. We work with consumers, policyholders, media, regulators and legislators to improve consumer understanding of insurance issues and policies, keep costs and prices at a reasonable level and improve the competitive business environment.

PADIC consists of about a dozen small to mid-sized P&C carriers domesticated in California. All members must primarily use agency-based distribution systems. In addition to full members, we have associate non-voting members. Our primary focus is on the preservation and promotion of a healthy agency-based insurance marketplace in California. We also follow legislative and regulatory developments in surrounding states.

While PADIC supports state regulation of insurance, we are concerned with the growing cost burden placed on carriers and consumers every year by the state's regulators and legislators. We will support fair and balanced legislation and regulation that encourages competition and a strong business environment. PADIC will seek to discourage any legislation or regulation that impedes competition, places new burdens on members, or advantages some carriers at the expense of smaller domestic carriers and their policyholders.
